Building A Prosperity and Success Altar

On July 5th, I built my first altar for prosperity and success. The idea for this altar started as an idea for a spell to attract money into my life. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I wanted to carve out a little space to really focus on attracting prosperity and success into my life. Through this process of building my altar, I've learned quite a bit about how I personally use magic in my life.

#tarotthursdaythree: All About Oracle Decks

#tarotthursdaythree is a weekly blogging prompt hosted by Julia from Spiral Sea Tarot. Read more of my answers here.

I was very excited to see that the prompts this week are about oracle decks, since I haven't really talked about my oracle deck or how I use them, even though they do a lot of heavy lifting! Oracle cards have a very different feeling and way of answering than tarot or Lenormand.

#tarotthursdaythree: All About Readings

#tarotthursdaythree is a weekly blogging prompt hosted by Julia from Spiral Sea Tarot. Read more of my answers here.

1. If you could read for anyone in the world (living or dead but not fictional) who would it be?

If I had to pick one person, it would probably have to be Rachel Pollack, tarot author and my personal hero, to read for.

#tarotthursdaythree: Decks, decks, decks!

It's a Sunday, not Thursday, but I felt the need to quickly answer these questions from last week. If this is your first week with #tarotthursdaythree, check out my past posts where I explain more in depth.

1. What feelings and thoughts does the concept of a "tarot deck collection" evoke in you?

On this week's chat with Kelly from The Truth in Story on YouTube, she talked about not having a "collection" but a "tarot library". I think this is a great way to think about decks.

Inhale, Exhale

As of this writing, I haven't posted about tarot on Instagram sine April 18th. I haven't posted on Instagram about anything since April 23rd. In this time, I haven't really even looked at Instagram, or any tarot related blogs, books, or YouTube channels. I also haven't even touched a deck of cards. Not even playing cards.

The first week, I didn't really notice. I had just gotten back from a brutal work trip. I felt like crap after a week of event food, no sleep, and lots of stress.

#tarotthursdaythree: Decks, books, and the collective unconscious

#Tarotthursdaythree is hosted by Spiral Sea Tarot, where she posts three tarot related questions for tarot readers to answer.

1. What is the deck that you're using the most these days?

I don't have the largest deck collection, so I use most of my decks year round. However, right now I am slightly obsessed with the Trionfi della Luna by Patrick Valenza.

#tarotthursdaythree: Questions, certifications, and biggest strengths.

The sun is shinning, I have my coffee, and it's time for another #tarotthursdaythree from Spiral Sea Tarot. These weeks have gone by so quickly for me, but I can honestly say that Thursdays are becoming my favorite day of the week.

1. What is your favorite type of inquiry to address for others? i.e. relationship, self development, life path/purpose etc.
My favorite types of readings are life path related. I love it when people come to me with questions about what they should do next in their job, education, or other big decision. In no way do I feel like I push people to make one decision or another, but I do love giving people a bird's eye view of what is going on.

#tarotthursdaythree: Descriptions, stalkers, and no shows.

As always, #tarotthursdaythree is hosted by the lovely Julia of Spiral Sea Tarot.

1. How would you refer to yourself as it relates to your practice? For example, I am a..."tarot reader", "witch", "intuitive", "tarot practitioner", "mystic" etc.?

"Intuitive tarot reader" has been the term that I've been using for a while now. I'm not a psychic or a medium, and I always want to make that clear to people from the start. I do read the cards in a more flowing way than the traditional systems, and sometimes I say things in a reading that while they aren't in the "meaning" of the cards, they fit for the seeker.

#tarotthursdaythree: Blank minds, tattoos, and pip card love.

Another week, and another three questions from Spiral Sea Tarot.

1. Scenario: You're reading for another, but your mind goes blank. None of the cards seem to "match" the inquiry and you're having a hard time interpreting what you're seeing - tips or strategies to overcome the situation?

Confession time: my mind goes blank with every single reading I do.

#tarotthursdaythree: Desert islands, what's off limits, and getting in the mood.

Tarot Thursday Three was started by Spiral Sea Tarot at the beginning of the year. Each week, she posts three questions for tarot lovers everywhere to answer on their blogs, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, or other social media.

1. Classic deserted island scenario: You're stranded for a year on an island, but can bring along one companion. Who from the court family keeps you company?

Queen of Pentacles, without a thought.

Some First Thoughts on "Wicca: A Year and A Day"

I was in middle school when I first became interested in a pagan path. After reading Harry Potter ad Tamora Pierce, watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Craft, and becoming increasingly frustrated with Judaism, it was only natural that I would find my way into the occult. I never really did anything with it, however. I read a ton of books and blogs, and decided that if I was going to be a witch, I had to do it "right". However, for a girl with limited budget and not allowed to light candles in my room, it never really got off the ground. I did spend a lot of time researching herbs and coping down Oghams to right secret messages to myself.
